Fracture with major soft tissue defect and denuded bone, or non union with osteomyelitis and soft tissue necrosis.
(a) Fracture with major soft tissue defect and denuded bone. LRS ADVanced (53000 series) in place.
(b) Debridement and resection of sufficient bone to allow soft tissue closure. Stabilization distally between middle and distal clamps. Proximal metaphyseal osteotomy.
(c) Distraction between proximal and middle clamps to restore original bone length.
Caution: Remove segment of fibula at least 1 cm longer than defect; distal syndesmosis screw.
